Editor's Note
Lake Nar is a brackish maar lake on the boundary between Aksaray and Niğde provinces in central Turkey, formed by volcanic activity. It is about 21 metres deep and 0.7 km² in area, and ongoing geothermal activity has produced hot springs, whose waters are now pumped to nearby hotels for use in thermal baths.
