Editor's Note
The Atatürk and Youth Monument stands at the very centre of Hacettepe University's Beytepe Campus. It was created in 1991 by Remzi Savaş, a faculty member of the university's Faculty of Fine Arts. It consists of a sculptural group depicting Atatürk in front, backed by three interlocking arches inscribed with his sayings: 'The truest guide in life is science,' 'The homeland is a whole, it cannot be divided,' and 'How happy is the one who says I am a Turk.'
