Editor's Note
There was once an Armenian church in the village of Çat. In the 1890s, most of the village's population was Armenian. With the displacement of 1915, first the Greeks and then, in stages up to 1950, the Armenians left the village. After 1927, a Turkish population began to settle in the village. Unfortunately, no trace of the church has survived to the present day. The land where the church once stood is now occupied by the building of the Forestry Department. In front of the present Forestry Department building, there are old, ruined houses extending downhill from the top.
