The historic bridge on Uzun Hafız Street, which had to be dismantled five years ago for the Marmaray Project, was rebuilt faithfully to its original. The bridge, set on the grounds of Haydarpaşa Station, was registered in 2010. Owing to the Marmaray project and renovation works, most of the historic bridges and overpasses between Haydarpaşa and Gebze were demolished and replaced with new ones. On the railway line, where excavation and ground-levelling works continue, some historic structures had to be relocated. The bridge on Uzun Hafız Street, within the boundaries of Rasimpaşa Neighbourhood, was one of these structures.
