Editor's Note
It stands directly across from the Cevher Ağa Mosque. The fountain consists of a granite column set in front of a fairly large reservoir. This column was bored crosswise so that water could flow through it. A Byzantine capital sits atop the column. Its counterparts can be found on either side of the courtyard gate of the Cevher Ağa Mosque, and another marble column stands on Yalnız Selvi Avenue. It is clear that these columns and capitals were brought from a Byzantine temple that once stood here. There are three troughs in front of the fountain. It was repaired in 1967, when its front face was completely clad in marble and protected with an eave.
