Editor's Note
The building was constructed in 1901 as a school for the children of members of the Italian Workers' Society, and during the Republican era it continued to serve the same purpose for many years, earning its place in the urban history of Istanbul. It was restored in 2005. The Cezayir Restaurant, owned by Osman Kavala, began operating in this building. Today, under the name Cezayir Meeting Halls, it hosts numerous events.
