Editor's Note
It is located at 49 Tiryaki Hasan Paşa Avenue in the Aksaray neighborhood. The mosque was built after the conquest of Istanbul by Kemâleddin, nicknamed "Baklacı," one of the dervishes who took part in the conquest. Its endowment deed dates to AH 927 / AD 1520. Having fallen into ruin over time, the mosque burned down completely in AH 1293 / AD 1876 and was repaired in 1908 at the treasury's expense by order of Sultan Abdülhamid II. After burning again, only the wall remains survived until, in 2000, it was rebuilt as a three-story reinforced-concrete structure with the support of local tradesmen.
