Editor's Note
It is a police station building constructed in the 19th century that reflects the features of the police stations built in that period. It was demolished because it fell within the median of the boulevard that was to be opened in 1957. It is known that in the Janissary era a wooden Janissary guard post stood on the site of the building. The 19th-century writer Cabi Said Efendi mentioned that a sekban soldier was executed in front of the Aksaray fountain and recorded the name of the police post. The Sekban-ı Cedid army was abolished and its duties were transferred to the office of the Commander-in-Chief in 1831 (1247 AH).
