Editor's Note
This medical institution, made up of three separate buildings, opened on 20 December 1901 with a 20-bed capacity under the direction of Dr. Vasil Dinov and the surgeon Dr. Garabet Yakubyan. On 25 April 1902, at a ceremony marking the 25th anniversary of Exarch Joseph I's appointment to the Exarchate, its bed capacity was raised to 50 and it was consecrated and officially opened as the Evlogi Georgiev Bulgarian Hospital. In 1991 it continued to operate as the Türkiye Gazetesi Hospital.
