Editor's Note
This bath, which does not fully reflect the building features of the Classical-period baths in which Turkish bath architecture reached its peak, is noted in the Tezkiretü'l-Ebniye as a work of Mimar Sinan. Built as a double bath (çifte hamam) in the name of Şehzade Mehmed, the deceased son of Süleyman the Magnificent, the bath's income was endowed to the Şehzade Mosque, which Sinan also built and described as his apprentice work. It is mentioned in the Tezkiretü'l-Ebniye. Source: General Information on Anatolian Turkish Baths and the Baths Built by Mimar Koca Sinan, Prof. Dr. Yılmaz ÖNGE.
