Editor's Note
It was built in 1946 by Necmettin Molla Kocatas, who gave his name to the Kocatas Mansion. Located on Piyasa Avenue in Buyukdere, the fountain - through which flows the Kocatas Water, one of the finest waters of the Bosphorus - has a carved mirror stone set between two slender twisted columns, adorned with a fan motif and geometric patterns reminiscent of the Hamidiye Fountains. Above it, after a carved border, is a capital decorated with floral motifs. Its basin is shaped like a fluted font. The water still flows.
