Molu Köyü Baldaken Türbesi

Editor's Note

Although the exact date of the Baldachin Tomb in the village of Molu is unknown, its architectural features and typological parallels date it to the fourteenth or fifteenth century. Built of cut stone, the structure has a square plan, with square piers at its four corners joined by pointed arches. The arch spandrels are set slightly back from the wall surface and treated as mouldings. The transition from the square space to the dome is made by means of pendentives at the corners, and this dome too is built entirely of cut stone.
