Editor's Note
The school is one of the architect's buildings in the rational-functionalist line that set an example for school buildings in Turkey through its design. Facing a wide promenade area open to student use at the front, the building consists of masses of differing heights joined in a U shape. Of these, the mass containing the main entrance, with its canopied connection to the street, houses a wide-span gymnasium with the library behind it. There is a separate entrance in the wing at the other end. The corner of this flat-roofed mass where the entrance staircase is located is rounded, as is the library.
