Editor's Note
The factory was built by Werner Issel. The Historic Electricity and Gasworks Factory was Ankara's first power-generating plant to run on town gas and coke. Designed and built by the German firm Aktien Elektrischen Gesellschaft, the complex was the work of architect and engineer Werner Issel. The site took shape through the Power Plant building and its chimneys, built in 1928, the Gasworks Furnaces built in 1929, and the expansion of the power plant in 1933.
