Editor's Note
Örencik Village Cemetery, in the Gölbaşı district of Ankara province, has served as a burial ground in continuous use from the Ottoman period to the present. In its flatter southern section, early graves can be seen, mostly bordered by large uninscribed stones. Among these old graves, fragments of columns and similar architectural elements—some assessed as dating to the Byzantine period—have been found reused as gravestones.
