Editor's Note
The bridge stands over the old Zir Stream in the town of Yenikent. Used for access to the village of Zir, formerly a district center, the bridge was built of cut stone masonry. The four-arched bridge has stone parapets on both sides. As one of the central arches is higher than the others, its middle section rises higher than the sides. In sound condition, the bridge is still in use. Since it bears no inscription, its date of construction and patron are unknown. When Evliya Çelebi came to İstanos in 1648, he did not mention the bridge.
