Story

Located in Aydın's Yenipazar district, the Yörük Ali Efe House Museum preserves the living world of Yörük Ali Efe, a symbol of Anatolian resistance history. In the mansion that rises with traditional stone and wood craftsmanship, the social and political colors of the first half of the 20th century come to life through documents. While Yörük Ali Efe is remembered as a defender of the region during the National Struggle, the handicrafts, personal belongings, and collections in the museum reveal this legendary figure's relationship with the local people. The cultural life of the Ottoman-Republican transition is reflected in the photographs on the walls and the artworks on display. The traditional life of the local people and the transformation of the region come together in this museum. During your visit, don't miss the traditional coffeehouse in the corner of the courtyard; there you can chat with local people and hear the true history of Yenipazar.
