Editor's Note
The tomb is located on an empty plot of land to the southwest of the Kavaközü neighborhood in the Güdül district of Ankara province, in the Cemetery locality of Kavaközü village in the Güdül district. In records from the 1530s it appears as the 'Samut Baba Dervish Lodge.' A 1733 (AH 1146) charter concerning the stewardship of the Samut Bali Dervish Lodge makes it clear that Samut Bali lived before the 16th century. There are four graves inside the tomb. Beneath the second grave from the head there is a chamber 40 cm wide and 100 cm deep, described as a 'cevherlik,' from which earth is taken and used for healing purposes.
