Editor's Note
The factory complex lies to the southeast of Tirilye, on the edge of the residential settlement. The factory and workshop buildings are registered as industrial structure Inventory No. 1. Their registration was upheld by decision no. 1299 of the Bursa Board for the Protection of Cultural and Natural Assets, dated 31 August 1990. This building in Tirilye, which retained its character as a Greek settlement even after coming under Ottoman rule, resembles, in its architecture and construction techniques, the 19th-century olive oil factories left by Greeks in the Aegean Region.
