The Macestus Bridge (Sultançayır Köprüsü) is a Roman arch bridge over the Macestus River near Balıkesir. Its flattened arches, slender piers and hollow-chamber system documented the progress of late-antique bridge building. The 234 m long structure was given a cursory study in the early 20th century but later largely neglected; photos from 2009 show that the bridge has since collapsed.
