Karaköy Hamamı

Since it has no inscription, it is not known by whom or when it was built. Some sources relate that the bath was commissioned by Ivaz Pasha. The bath is in the Karakoy district of Manisa. The entrance area consists of a portico of three pointed arches with closed side faces, its front resting on marble columns topped with two antique-period capitals. The facade, decorated with geometric ornament and interlacing chains made of red brick and white joints, is the most striking part of the bath. The changing room has a square plan and is covered by a dome resting on an octagonal drum and squinch pendentives.
