Editor's Note
Bayat Mosque has a square plan. The single-chambered mosque has a rectangular portico (son cemaat yeri) on its north facade. The mosque has no minaret. Its roof, originally an earthen flat roof, was renewed as a hipped roof in 1963. The building's walls are quite thick and built using the rammed-adobe (mudbrick) technique. The walls are plastered with lime mortar. All the walls and wooden beams inside the prayer hall feature hand-painted (kalem işi) decorations, in which depictions of Mecca, floral motifs and medallions with Arabic inscriptions can be seen.
