Editor's Note
After undergoing repairs on 09.05.2022, it was reopened for worship seven years later. The church's true date of construction is unknown. The first information about the church appears in the geography book of Per Ghugas Inciciyan (1758-1833). The book states: "In 1515 or 1518, after the Surp Teotoros mother church was converted into a mosque, this church was also built in the cemetery of that church." This church also served as the seat of spiritual leadership. The seven-altar church had a wooden ceiling.
