Editor's Note
The Konya Atatürk Monument was the second Atatürk monument erected in the Turkish Republic, after the one at Sarayburnu in Istanbul. Made in 1926 by the Austrian sculptor Heinrich Krippel, it stands on Government Square along Konya's İstasyon Avenue.
