Editor's Note
This fountain, located on Koyunoglu Street in the Kerim Dede neighborhood of Konya's Karatay district, was built by Turkmen Haci Ahmetzade Ibrahim in AH 1297 / 1879 CE. Cut stone and marble were used as building materials. Its eaves feature a reinforced-concrete eaves slab, clearly a later addition, with a brick-built balcony designed above it. Two metal struts were used to carry the concrete eaves. The single-faced fountain is wall-bound and has the character of a street fountain. The monolithic piers on which the pointed arch rests are enlivened with moldings.
