Sığacık Castle stands in the Seferihisar district of İzmir, just northeast of the still-active harbour of Sığacık. Thought to date from the Seljuk period, it was repaired under the Aydınids and the Ottomans. Its most significant restoration came in 1521-1522, when stone from the nearby ruins of Teos was quarried for it during preparations for Suleiman the Magnificent's campaign against Rhodes.
