Set in the green highlands of Ladik, the Ambarköy Open-Air Museum is a unique treasure that safeguards the rich cultural heritage of the Black Sea region. Presenting traditional village life as a living museum, the complex carries visitors into the depths of time with its authentic 19th- and 20th-century structures. Buildings such as houses with corbelled roofs, barns, a blacksmith's shop, and a flour mill document every aspect of Black Sea village life. The handicrafts, old agricultural tools, and folklore collection on display preserve knowledge passed down from generation to generation. The Ladik weaving and yarn-spinning looms in particular are important works that introduce the artistic identity of the region's women. Because the museum also keeps live animals, the taste and smell of the past can be felt in a truly authentic way. We strongly recommend going early in the summer and learning the old techniques from the women working there.
