The Cyprus Memorial Forest (full name: Memorial Forest for the Martyrs of the Cyprus Peace Operation) is a symbolic cemetery in the rural Silifke district of Mersin Province, set in a 9-hectare area surrounded by pine forest. It was opened in 1976, two years after the Cyprus Peace Operation. The graves are empty; a tree was planted for each of the 454 officers, non-commissioned officers and soldiers who died during the operation.
