Editor's Note
The Grand Post Office (Sirkeci PTT Center) in the Sirkeci quarter of Istanbul's Fatih district is the largest post office building in Turkey. Construction began in 1905 as the headquarters of the Ministry of Posts and Telegraphs and was completed in 1909. It is the first work of architect Vedat Tek and one of the earliest examples of the First National Architectural Movement; the four-storey, roughly 3,200 m² building has its corners crowned with domes.
