Editor's Note
Karatepe (Arslantaş Höyüğü) is a Neo-Hittite fortress in the Kadirli district of Osmaniye Province. Built in the 8th century BC by the Hittite ruler Azatiwada against tribes to the north, it lies in the Taurus Mountains on the right bank of the Ceyhan River, about 23 km from Kadirli, and today serves as an open-air museum within the Karatepe-Aslantaş National Park.
