Editor's Note
Located in the central district of Niğde, the Nalbantlar Fountain was built in 1763-64 (AH 1177) during the reign of Sultan Mustafa III, according to its inscription. Its architect and patron are unknown. Constructed of white marble, the fountain reflects the Baroque influences of its era with arched niches and decorations of garlands and floral motifs. Although it has lost some of its original features over time, it still functions today, connected to the city's water network.
