Editor's Note
This fountain in Kadıköy was built in 1732-1733. Its inscription states it was commissioned by Ali Paşa, preceded by the title 'asaf' used for Ottoman grand viziers. Although some sources attribute it to Sürmeli Ali Paşa, more recent assessments, based on its construction year, hold that it was commissioned by Hekimoğlu Ali Paşa.
