Editor's Note
An Ottoman-period twin fountain on the street-facing outer wall of the Şehzade Mosque in the Kalenderhane neighborhood of Fatih. It is named for Emine Hanım, buried in 1722-1723, as it was built on either side of her grave; it is also known as the Twin Fountains or the Şehzade Cemetery Fountains. It bears tulip motifs and fine ornamentation typical of the Tulip Era and was made solely for drinking water; its carved basins are now broken and it no longer runs.
