Editor's Note
Alara Han is a 13th-century Anatolian Seljuk caravanserai on the bank of the Alara River, about 37 km west of Alanya. The first stopover on the old Alanya-Konya caravan route, it was built in 1231 of large cut stone over an area of roughly 2,000 square metres. Today, restored, it is used as a restaurant and shopping centre.
